Heat Treating Company to Engage in Six Sigma

Alfe Heat Treating, the largest treater in the United States, has embarked on their journey to six sigma perfection. Alfe, who has a reputation for being on-time and highly customer focused, hopes to take varying processes (direct and indirect) to new heights. Process-In-Focus Launches New Student Portal!!

Aircraft Corporation to fly to new heights with Six Sigma.

Sino Swearingen, developer of the new SJ30-2 twinjet, the world's fastest and longest range light business jet is embracing it's goal of creating a cost-efficient, high performance, high quality, superior technology aircraft by applying the disciplines of Six Sigma.  Mark Vardaro, President of Process-In-Focus stated "the move toward six sigma highlights Sino's passion toward excellence".  Through a partnership with Shepard University, Sino employees will undergo a 10-week Six Sigma Certified Green Belt course.  "Students will receive customized instruction to help them understand the methodologies behind Six Sigma" said Vardaro.  "We're looking forward to helping Sino's management team implement the most powerful and effective improvement methodology available today". 

 

Six Sigma Hits the University of Tulsa...Blended eLearning at it's Best!!

The University of Tulsa's Center for Executive and Professional Development has partnered with Process-In-Focus to offer a series of blended Six Sigma eLearning training programs.  The offered  within the series include Six Sigma Executive Overview (White Belt); Six Sigma Green Belt; and Six Sigma Black Belt.  Each course comes with a certification provided participants successful completion of course requirements.  Some of the blended eLearning courses include:

AAR-Aircraft Services "Leads the (Aerospace) Pack":

Sixty-two of AAR's best leaders underwent and extensive one-year Leadership Development Program (LDP).  The Process-In-Focus "Custom Built" program focused on leadership theory, teambuilding, and the delivery and application of proven management tools and methodologies.  "The course brought managers, team leads, and supervisors together to get to know each other in a different light, share experiences, and develop a bond which will help the company achieve even greater highs" said Mark Vardaro, President, Process-In-Focus.  AAR Aircraft Services is a premiere provider of aircraft inspection and repair services to the military and the major airlines.

 

Helping the Banking Industry Make Big Gains:

Process-In-Focus partnered with software giant, Mirifex Systems, to deliver a 16-week Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification Course for National City Bank, the 8th largest bank in the United States.  The 16-week course included classroom lecture, workshops, and one-on-one mentoring sessions.  Twenty of National City's best and brightest Executives, Managers, and Supervisors applied the "DMAIC" methodology to numerous facets of their departments.  Through the use of Minitab, an advanced statistical software tool, participants were able to identify and focus on eliminating process deviations to create an estimated savings of over $1.5M USD for the Bank.

ClimateMaster, the worlds largest manufacturer of water source heat pumps, crossed the finish line in style with an internally recognized certification for their commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.  In teaming up with Process-In-Focus and Francis Tuttle Technology Center, implementation success came not only as a targeted end result, but as a byproduct of the development of solid processes, the training and coaching of an in-depth audit team, and the formalization of the company's quality policy, "Quality First and Always".  The implementation created teamwork, refined leadership skills, and strengthened communication across the multi-million dollar company.  Best of all, the company has experienced increased interest from international customers as well as made significant achievements within both their quality and productivity ratios.

 

Jet Service, Inc.. prepared to Fly!!

Internationally recognized overhaul company specializing in mechanical, electrical, and electronic aircraft accessories, Jet Service Enterprises, Inc has raised the bar for team leads and supervisors who want to grow with the company.  The company sent 15 of it's most successful managers and  supervisors through a customized leadership development course by Process-In-Focus.

 

Wow!!  Process-In-Focus Produces BIG Results for Oklahoma City Community College's first Six Sigma Green Belt Course:

Participants in Oklahoma City Community College's first Six Sigma Green Belt certification course produced highly favorable results for their companies.  Mark Vardaro, President of Process-In-Focus and Adjunct Professor at Oklahoma City Community College said "We've designed our Six Sigma Green Belt Course to focus on returning bottom line results to companies while providing the student a solid understanding as well as practical knowledge of the DMAIC principles of Six Sigma.... a win-win for everyone".  Course participants saved their companies a combined $85,000 during the first 10-week certification course.  This equates to an average Return On Investment of over 22 to 1.  "The results are not unusual" said Vardaro.  "With the right instruction and guidance coupled with corporate and management support, the sky's the limit with our method of instructing Six Sigma". 

 

BIEMS Six Sigma Junior Greenbelt Program Returns Results On State Criterion-Referenced Tests (CRT):

83% of the Belle Isle Enterprise Middle School students participating in our Junior Green Belt certification scored "Advanced" on their Criterion-Referenced Tests.  Students scored an average of 91% in the area of Data Analysis, a subject focused on during the Junior Green Belt Program..  This adds an additional boost to the results already achieved by the program which include the development of teambuilding, leadership, problem solving, and communication skills.  In addition, improvements for getting students to class on time, raising more money during fundraisers for the school, and developing techniques to help students submit completed homework on time were achieved through individual team projects.

 

"Coaching Your Mission" Receives Rave Reviews During Initial Launch:

After identifying widespread gaps in day-to-day relations between supervisors and subordinates, Process-In-Focus developed the two-hour workshop, "Coaching Your Mission".  During the first unveiling of the course, 42 students had the opportunity to break into six teams to discuss experiences, give input, and develop agreed upon solutions.  The workshop sparked participants thought processes, triggered debates, and gave way to the identification and analysis of actions which resulted in performance improvement.  Students enjoyed the interaction, networking, and risk free learning environment created by workshop facilitators.

 

Flexible Training: Process-In-Focus Launches Its "eLearning" System:

In an attempt to utilize main stream technology, Process-In-Focus launched an online eLearning series which focuses on Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Statistical Process Control. Included in the online offerings are courses on Process Capability and Design of Experiments. Each course can be utilized as a stand alone training activity or delivered in conjunction with class lecture.

 

BIEMS Signs up for Six Sigma Junior Green Belt Training:

Process-In-Focus, Belle Isle Enterprise Middle School and Oklahoma City Community College have partnered to offer a first ever, Six Sigma "Junior Green Belt" certification.  Seventeen of the schools brightest eight graders will undergo six sessions of lecture aimed at linking the mathematical tools they have been learning to real world business applications.  The program focuses on the DMAIC principles and requires the students to complete projects focusing on the improvement of the school, school programs, and its students.   Advanced mathematics teacher and co-facilitator, Roslynn Rayford, stated "we've customized the program to give students a new set of problem solving tools and aligned it to meet the Oklahoma State Department of Education's "PASS" criteria".  Throughout the program, students will work in teams, develop leadership and public communication skills, as well as utilize and learn new technology skills.  Process-In-Focus will support and interact with students utilizing a combination of "Live Chat" and "NetMeetings".  Certificates will be presented by Oklahoma City Community College on April 16th.

 

Live Chat Added to the Process-In-Focus Website:

Process-In-Focus has implemented a "Live Chat" feature to their website. President and Senior Consultant, Mark Vardaro stated, "the feature will enable the us to be more accessible to our clients. We are continuously looking for better ways of doing business, and this is one of our customer focused projects planned for 2004."

University of Tulsa Partnership

Process Mapping at Metro Tech

Process-In-Focus has partnered Metro Technology Center for a one-day "Process Management" seminar.  The seminar was aimed at providing over thirty District Administrators and Leaders an overview of different types of processes and how to identify and eliminate problems.  Metro Tech is leading the industry with their focus on exceeding customer expectations and becoming the technology center of the future.

 

Public Training:

Process-In-Focus was selected to partner with The Center for Citizen Initiatives. We developed and provided three seminars for 13 Russian Delegates. The seminars covered:

  • Building a Successful Business
  • Business Organization and Decision Making
  • Distribution, Inventory Management, and Warehousing

The Seminars were held on July 24th, 2003 on the beautiful campus of the Francis Tuttle Technology Center. Francis Tuttle Technology Center provides state of the art training programs and facilities to help businesses improve workforce skills, compete in the international marketplace, and gain market share through the effective application of theory, management practices, and programs.

 

Oklahoma Quality Award Foundation Annual Golf Tournament:

Over the last ten years, the Oklahoma Quality Award Foundation has provided a State "Performance Excellence Program". The program has helped numerous Oklahoma companies improve business results while serving as a stepping-stone to the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality award criteria. In addition, OQAF provides performance feedback and various training courses and workshops to enhance team building, productivity, and operational results.

We were a proud sponsor of this years Annual Golf Tournament held at the prestigious "Oak Tree Golf Club" located on the West Side of Edmond Oklahoma .

 

 

Prizes were awarded for First, Second, and Third place finishers of the tournament. Other prizes were awarded along with OQAF presentations.
